Overview:
Badlao Foundation has been working in Santhal Pargana of Jharkhand State since 1982 for the upliftment of tribal communities by focusing on women’s empowerment, whose livelihoods are based on forest-based production. In addition to this, Badlao Foundation is working on INRM, health, education, and environmental sustainability.
The main objective of the project is to address vulnerabilities among the Pahadiya community through women-led market interventions in Jharkhand, India (Pahadiya SWALAMBAN – Building collective enterprise – Phase 2)
The Project Assistant will support the implementation and management of projects related to both farming and non-farming activities. This role involves assisting in the planning, coordination, and monitoring of project activities to ensure they are executed effectively and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a background in agriculture or rural development and possess strong organizational and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination
- Assist in the planning and coordination of project activities related to farming and non-farming initiatives.
- Support the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Ensure timely execution of project tasks and adherence to timelines.
Field Support
- Conduct field visits to monitor the implementation of farming and non-farming activities.
- Provide technical assistance and support to farmers and community members involved in the projects.
- Collect and document data from the field to track project progress.
Training and Capacity Building
- Organize and facilitate training sessions and workshops for farmers and community members.
- Develop training materials and resources in collaboration with the project team.
- Assist in capacity-building efforts to enhance the skills and knowledge of project beneficiaries.
Data Management and Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project activities, beneficiaries, and outcomes.
- Prepare regular reports on project progress, challenges, and achievements.
- Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including farmers, community leaders, government agencies, and NGOs.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of project activities.
- Address any issues or concerns raised by project beneficiaries.
Administrative Support
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and managing correspondence.
- Coordinate logistics for training sessions, field visits, and other project-related activities.
- Provide general support to the project team as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the agricultural or rural development sector.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with farming practices and non-farming income-generating activities.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work in rural areas.

Compensation
- Salary within a range of 20k to 25k per month (salary negotiable based on experience) and travel allowance will be paid extra.
