About the Organization
Badlao Foundation has been working in Santhal Pargana of Jharkhand State since 1982 for the
upliftment of tribal communities by focusing on women’s empowerment, whose livelihoods are
based on forest-based production. In addition to this, Badlao Foundation is working on INRM,
health, education, and environmental sustainability.
Role Overview
The District Project Officer will oversee the planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of
project activities within the assigned district. They will act as the key liaison between the
implementing organization, government bodies, and community stakeholders, ensuring the
effective delivery of the project goals.
Key Responsibilities
❖ Project Planning and Implementation
➔ Develop district-level work plans in alignment with the overall project framework.
➔ Coordinate the implementation of project activities within timelines and quality
parameters. Identify gaps, risks, and solutions to ensure smooth execution.
❖ Coordination and Stakeholder Management
➔ Collaborate with government departments, local bodies, and partner organizations.
➔ Facilitate meetings, training sessions, and capacity-building workshops with key
stakeholders.
➔ Act as the focal point for communication between district-level stakeholders and the
state project office.
❖ Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)
➔ Regularly track and monitor project activities to ensure they meet targets.
➔ Collect, compile, and report data as per M&E frameworks.
➔ Conduct field visits to assess progress and provide technical guidance where needed.
➔ Identify challenges and opportunities to improve program outcomes.
❖ Documentation and Reporting
➔ Prepare timely reports on project performance, including progress, challenges, and
recommendations.
➔ Document success stories, case studies, and lessons learned.
➔ Ensure proper documentation of meetings, events, and field activities.
❖ Financial Management and Compliance
➔ Ensure budget utilization as per the approved plan and financial guidelines.
➔ Maintain accurate records of expenditures and resource allocation at the district level.
➔ Ensure compliance with organizational and donor requirements.
❖ Capacity Building
➔ Provide training and mentorship to field staff and community volunteers.
➔ Support the creation of IEC (Information, Education, Communication) materials, if
required.
❖ Risk Management
➔ Identify risks or delays in implementation and propose mitigation strategies.
➔ Monitor compliance with legal, regulatory, and project-specific requirements at the
district level.
Qualifications and Experience
● Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Social Work, Development Studies, Public Administration,
or related field.
● 2-3 years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably in social
development or government projects.
● Familiarity with government schemes and programs at the district level.
● Proficiency in Hindi, English. Knowledge on tribal languages will be an advantage for
the candidate
Skills and Competencies
● Strong project management and organizational skills.
● Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and
documentation.
● Proficiency in data collection tools, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and project
management software.
● Experience in monitoring and evaluation, financial management, and compliance.
● Willingness to travel frequently within the district.
Compensation
● Salary within a range of 30k to 38.5k per month (salary negotiable based on experience)
and travel allowance will be paid extra.
