Case Study: Zaid Crops
The brothers, Bijay Murmu and Ramesh Murmu grow crops and cultivate
together and earn for their family. They are progressive farmers, they
cultivate throughout the year in all three seasons whether it rains or not,
since they have an available resource of water near their field. This year
Bijay and Ramesh planted zaid crops.
Case Study : Himalaya Kishori YG (Poultry)
Badlao Foundation formed a youth group to empower the youth in the
Jamtara district with the support of JTDS. there are a total of 22 youth
groups in the Jamtara block. The success story of this youth group of
Himalaya Youth Group Pagdadih is located in Menjhia Panchayat.
Case Study : Badligarh women’s group
Group name: Badligarh women’s group, Mejhiya Story title: farming
becomes economical and self-supporting through cooperation and
organisation, awareness about government schemes by joining the
group, and health and nutrition information received. Before joining the
scheme, the women here used to work as a wage labourers

Case Study : Irrigation Well
A concept of small irrigation facilities like an Irrigation well is one of the
key components under the Jharkhand Tribal Empowerment and
Livelihood program (JTELP). The basic objective of the intervention is to
increase the return from agriculture by the small irrigation facilities like
Irrigation well 12’*35’ in size This Scheme was initiated in the year 2017-
18 in Jamtara block.
Case Study : Anjali Baski - Pigshed
Anjali Baski resident of Raghunathpur Village in Saharpura Panchayat
under Jamtara block of Jamtara district is a change marker not only for
her village but also for nearby panchayat. In 2018 Anjali started pig
rearing with support from Badlao Foundation in association with JTDS,
JTELP project.
Case Study : Rajesh Kisku (Zaid Crops)
Rajesh Kisku, a farmer of Gowakola of Chandradipa panchayat of
Jamtara, is the only earning member among all 6 members of his family.
He is very hardworking ever since he was a child. Since he is engaged in
farming from a very early age, he is well aware of the know-how of
farming.
Case Study : Ashoni Tudu (Poultry)
Ashni Tudu From Jamtara Block in Jamtara District is another tribal
farmer who has successfully demonstrated her entrepreneurship in
backyard poultry rearing. In the years 2017-2018 with support from
Badlao Foundation through JTDS, Jharkhand Tribal Empowerment and
livelihood Project (JTELP) he initiated backyard poultry activity.
Case Study : Chandreepa Panchayat
15km from Jamtara block, chandreepa panchayat is home to Santhal
communities. Most of the tribal families work as labourers. Due to poor
transportation and infrastructure facilities, residents face a lack of
access to basic amenities and are almost cut off from mainstreaming.
Due to poverty, they are not able to eat any kind of vegetables.
Case Study : Sima Murmu
As we all know Jamtara Block is surrounded by Santhal communities.
This is the story of a woman named Sima Murmu who stays in Mejhiya
panchayat which is 12km from Jamtara Block. As they belong to a poor
family and her husband is working as daily labour so she is unable to
come to the AWC as she has some family pressure so she is not able to
