Job Summary
The Badlao Foundation has been working in Santhal Pargana of Jharkhand State since 1982 for the upliftment of tribal communities, focusing on women’s empowerment, whose livelihoods are based on forest-based production. In addition to this, Badlao Foundation is working on INRM, health, education, and environmental sustainability.
LIC HFL Sangam – Tasar Link Project aims to identify beneficiaries and promote their cultivation of tasar to build a sustainable way of income generation through market linkage. The goal is to promote tasar production in Santhal Pargana in the state of Jharkhand.
The Block Coordinator will play a crucial role in implementing development programs and initiatives to promote tasar production by supporting the farmers. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, monitoring and evaluating projects, and ensuring the effective delivery of services to the community. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of rural development, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Implementation Tasks:
- Assist in the seamless execution of the Sangam project under LIC Housing Finance.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met on time.
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines, quality standards, and budget.
- Act as the primary point of contact for project implementation-related queries.
- Assist in resource planning, procurement, and deployment for the project.
- Ensure that the project meets all compliance and regulatory requirements.
2. Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records, contracts, and other relevant documents.
- Prepare project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and reports.
- Ensure that all necessary approvals and legal documentation are in place.
- Organize and manage digital and physical filing systems for easy retrieval of project-related materials.
- Ensure proper documentation of project risks, issues, and mitigation plans.
- Maintain a correspondence file of conversations with the funder through email.
3. Reporting:
- Regularly update the project director and senior stakeholders with status reports on project progress, challenges, and deliverables.
- Create daily, weekly, and monthly reports regarding the project’s status, including progress towards key milestones.
- Track and report project expenses, providing updates on budget forecasts and variances.
- Provide reports on project risks, issues, and resolutions to ensure project success.
- Case studies and narrative reports.
- Timely report to the funder sharing all the information and reports, coordinating with Badlao Head Office.
4. MIS (Management Information System):
- Manage and update MIS systems to ensure data is accurate and consistent across platforms.
- Track project-related data and create reports for analysis and decision-making.
- Generate periodic MIS reports to inform management of the project’s financials, resources, timelines, and performance metrics.
- Analyze data trends and provide recommendations to improve project outcomes.
5. Field Visits:
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities and ensure compliance with the defined plan.
- Ensure quality control and adherence to project guidelines during field visits.
- Provide support to field teams and resolve any operational challenges encountered.
- Document observations during field visits and communicate them to relevant stakeholders for timely resolution.
6. Marketing and Training Support:
- Assist in the development of marketing strategies and promotional activities for the LIC HFL Sangam project.
- Coordinate with the marketing team for the creation and distribution of project-related materials.
- Organize and support training programs for internal teams and stakeholders.
- Ensure that the project team is up-to-date with the latest developments, policies, and project procedures.
- Coordinate and arrange workshops, seminars, and outreach programs related to the project.
Qualifications and Skills
- Master’s degree in business administration, agriculture, social work, rural development, community development, or a related field.
- Experience in Tasar cocoon cultivation will be considered an added advantage for this role.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in rural development or community engagement.
- Strong understanding of the socio-economic conditions and challenges of Paharia villages.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Hindi and English. Knowledge of tribal languages will be an advantage for the candidate.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
- Should have a learning attitude in nature.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent travel to remote and rural areas within the blocks.
- Flexibility to work beyond regular office hours when necessary.
- Physical and mental stamina to work in challenging environments.
Compensation:
- Salary will be within a range of ₹28,000 per month (based on experience).
- Travel allowance will be paid extra.
