About the Organization
Badlao Foundation has been working in Santhal Pargana of Jharkhand State since 1982 for the
upliftment of tribal communities by focusing on women’s empowerment, whose livelihoods
are based on forest-based production. In addition to this, Badlao Foundation is working on
INRM, health, education, and environmental sustainability.
About the Role:
In this leadership role, you’ll play a vital part in supporting our Strengthening the rights and
climate resilience of forest dependent Adivasi Communities project. You’ll guide
communities, families, and staff towards sustainable solutions, ensuring the project runs
smoothly and achieves its goals.
Responsibilities:
Train community leaders on the Forest Rights Act (FRA) and Community Conservation.
Monitor project activities, progress, budgets, and achievements.
Develop a training module on forest-based livelihoods and Community Forest Resource
(CFR) management.
Build alliances to advocate for forest rights.
Facilitate the development of women-led forest-based enterprises.
Organize and support Community Forest Management Committees (CFMCs).
Prepare CFR Management Plans.
Travel to project sites in Lohardaga, Gumla & Godda (Jharkhand) for at least 15 days per
month.
Establish Village Resource cum Community Information Centres.
Organize community members for Non-Timber Forest Produce (NTFP) diversification.
Develop and deliver online courses on community forestry.
Liaise with government and stakeholders at the district level.
Lead project implementation to ensure program outcomes are achieved.
Support the implementation of Badlao Foundation’s Natural Resource Management (NRM)
strategy.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in MARD/MSW/MRM or relevant discipline.
Minimum 7 years of experience in livelihood development, FRA, and NRM.
Experience leading projects and managing large-scale operations.
Collaborative approach with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Empathy, compassion, and sensitivity towards community challenges. Ethical and confidential work ethic.
Fluency in English and Hindi (written and verbal).
Santali fluency is a plus.
Open-mindedness, adaptability, and a desire to learn.
Ability to work independently and in teams.
Skills:
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and documentation.
Proficiency in data collection tools, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and project
management software.
Experience in monitoring and evaluation, financial management, and compliance.
Willingness to travel frequently within the district.
