Job Title: Block Coordinator

Job Type: Full-time for 1 Year
Job Summary:
Badlao Foundation has been working in Santhal Pargana of Jharkhand State since 1982 for
the upliftment of tribal communities by focusing on women’s empowerment, whose
livelihoods are based on forest-based production. In addition to this, Badlao Foundation is
working on INRM, health, education, and environmental sustainability.
Gram Swashashan Abhiyaan – Is to Empowering Adivasi and other vulnerable communities
to access public service deliveries and claim their entitlements and forest rights by
strengthening Gram Sabha and governance structure.
The Block Coordinator will play a crucial role in implementing development programs and
initiatives in Paharia villages. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders,
monitoring and evaluating projects, and ensuring the effective delivery of services to the
community. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of rural development,
excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Implementation and Coordination:
● Coordinate and oversee the implementation of development programs in the block.
● Liaise with government officials, NGOs, and community leaders to ensure smooth
execution of projects.
● Organize and conduct meetings, workshops, and training sessions for community
members and stakeholders.
Community Engagement and Mobilization:
● Engage with the Paharia community to understand their needs, concerns, and
aspirations.
● Mobilize community participation in various development initiatives.
● Promote awareness about health, education, sanitation, and other social welfare
programs.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
● Monitor the progress of projects and ensure they are completed within the stipulated
time frame.
● Evaluate the impact of programs and prepare reports for stakeholders.
● Identify challenges and provide solutions to improve program delivery.
Capacity Building:
● Train and support local volunteers and staff in project implementation and
management.
● Facilitate capacity-building sessions for community members to enhance their skills
and knowledge.
Data Collection and Reporting:
● Collect and maintain accurate data related to project activities and beneficiaries.
● Prepare and submit regular reports to the District Program Manager/Project Director.
● Document success stories and best practices for dissemination.
Resource Management:
● Manage resources effectively to ensure optimal utilization.
● Oversee the distribution of materials and supplies to the community.
Qualifications and Skills:
● Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Community Development, or
a related field.
● Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in rural development or community engagement.
● Strong understanding of the socio-economic conditions and challenges of Paharia
villages.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Proficiency in Hindi, English. Knowledge on tribal languages will be an advantage for
the candidate
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
● Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Master’s degree in social work/rural management/related in field
● Experience working with tribal communities.
● Knowledge of government schemes and policies related to rural development.
Working Conditions:
● Frequent travel to remote and rural areas within the block.
● Flexibility to work beyond regular office hours when necessary.
● Physical stamina to work in challenging environments.
Compensation
● Salary within a range of 30k to 35k per month (based on experience) and travel
allowance will be paid extra.
