About Badlao Foundation

For 41 years, Badlao Foundation has been working at the grassroots in the Santhal Parganas of Jharkhand and has been to establish itself as a promising organization in the State. While our focus has been to ensure sustainable livelihood, food security, leading to improved health & nutrition, we also endeavor to provide quality education and access to various social security and social assistance schemes of state and central governments to the tribal, PVTGs (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups) and other marginalized groups. Along these 41 years of our existence we have made our footprints in over 9 districts in the State of Jharkhand covering 13 Blocks.

The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, learning and development and enforcing organization’s policies and practices.  

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Management

  1. Oversee the payroll management starting from compliance to labor laws- adherence to PF, ESIC, and Gratuity
  2. Salary processing in consultation with the Finance department

Recruitment/Staffing

  1. Understand the requirements for any positions through discussions at different levels with the project teams
  2. Create advertisements for all positions
  3. Develop Job Descriptions in consultation with the project manager
  4. Timely posting of all the vacant positions
  5. Creating criteria for shortlisting of positions in consultation with the management
  6. Create a fair and sound interview process- including written tests and group discussions, relevant for each positions
  7. Generating offer letters and appointment letters for the new joinees
  8. Ensuring all relevant ID, certificates and employee documents are given.
  9. Organizing theme wise orientation for the new joinees 
  10. Conducting exit formalities for the employees who have quit

Policies and procedures

  1. Aligning the HR manual of the organization as per the needs of the organization
  2. Training of staff on the clauses mentioned in the HR policy/manual
  3. Ensuring adherence to different policies- Grievance Redressal, Sexual Harassment, Child safety and also try to introduce any new policies relevant for the organization
  4. Timely revisiting these policies as per organizational requirement

Volunteers and Interns

  1. Handling the process of hiring of interns and volunteers from time to time as per need of the organization
  2. Tracking their program and development on a monthly basis

Performance Management & Development:

  1. Assess the training needs of the employees during the quarterly reviews
  2. Hold parallel discussions with the project managers for conducting the trainings for the employees
  3. Providing opportunities for employees to participate in decision-making fosters a sense of control and ownership over their work, leading to higher engagement.
  4. Conducting annual performance appraisal on time.

Data and Documentation Collection

  1. Preparation MIS data of employees (new Joining, Exit employees, employees’ basic information).
  2. Collection of documents of new joiners, attendance sheet, monthly plan & reporting sheet of employees, leave sheet, payslips, etc

 Learning Development – Establish and maintain appropriate systems for identifying, planning, delivering and measuring learning and development.

Qualifications & Experience

  1. Master Degree in Human Resource Management with minimum 3 years of experience
  2. Proven experience in managing large-scale operations
  3. Collaborative approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  4. Ability to build rapport and trust with diverse populations
  5. Flexibility and adaptability to work in challenging environments
  6. Fluency in English and Hindi (written and verbal)

Compensation

Salary Negotiable. Minimum 3 years of experience in handling HR functions in an organization especially in a Not-for profit/NGOs
