About Badlao Foundation

For 41 years, Badlao Foundation has been working at the grassroots in the Santhal Parganas of Jharkhand and has been to establish itself as a promising organisation in the State.While our focus has been to ensure sustainable livelihood, food security, leading to improved health & nutrition, we also endeavour to provide quality education and access to various social security and social assistance schemes of state and central governments to the tribal, PVTGs (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups) and other marginalised groups. Along these 41 years of our existence we have made our footprints in over 9 districts in the State of Jharkhand covering 13 Blocks.

About the Project

This project focuses on strengthening the capacities of local communities in 3 districts of Jharkhand viz- Godda, Gumla and Lohardaga, for creating an enabling ecosystem for the community to protect their interests and livelihoods. It further aims at creating a resilient forest-dependent community.  As the Project Lead, you will play a critical role in supporting your team, community leaders, Government functionaries and other stakeholders.  Your expertise will guide stakeholders towards sustainable solutions that improve livelihoods and protect the environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Train community leaders on Forest Management and Forest based Livelihoods.
  2. Oversee all aspects of project implementation, including activities, progress, budgets, and achievements.
  3. Support in the development of a module on forest-based livelihoods and Community Forest Resource (C.F.R.) management.
  4. Developing strategies for effective advocacy with various stakeholders both at the State and district level
  5. Support in the formation and market led interventions for women groups from the 3 districts
  6. Support in the establishment and management of Village Resource cum Community Information Center in the 3 districts
  7. Assure that the Forest Management Project is implemented effectively and that program outcomes are met.
  8. Support the implementation of Badlao Foundation’s Natural Resource Management (N.R.M.) strategy.
  9. Demonstrate a strong understanding of community engagement and processes.
  10. Any other activity as per organisation direction and requirement.
  11. Donor Reporting and Case Story documentation
  12. Engagement in Organization Development Activity 
  13. Support in the overall Organisational Development through supports in Fundraising and liasoning

Qualifications & Experience

  1. Master Degree in Environmental Science/Agriculture/MBA/MSW
  2. Minimum seven years of experience in livelihood development, Forest Management and N.R.M.
  3. Proven experience leading projects and managing large-scale operations
  4. Collaborative approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  5. Ability to build rapport and trust with diverse populations
  6. Flexibility and adaptability to work in challenging environments
  7. Fluency in English and Hindi (written and verbal)
  8. Fluency in Santhali is a strong advantage

Travel– Up to 15 days of travel , with occasional travel to Ranchi for State level liasioning
